Best Sushi: Sunny Isles' stellar NAOE (305/947-6263) has a Hollywood vibe and serves up sushi with star-power.     

 

NAOE Miami. Three out of three Stars. SUSHI. Simply put NAOE is Japanese for 'OMG omakase.' Well, not really, but chef Kevin Cory sure makes you think that with his exquisitely prepared, hyperfresh sushi, possibly the best in the city. Its motto is very blunt: 'It's not fresh, it's alive.' Open only Wednesday through Sunday, Chef Cory serves his chef choice's menu ($26) every night. All menus are prepared daily and if you have special requests, you need to make it at least a week in advance. Be careful about what you ask for, though, as extras can add up quickly. They even charge for fresh grated wasabi. That's fresh stuff, not the tubed stuff, but still. Another translation for NAOE: 'Nobu, what?'
